Douglas Yono is a devoted husband, father, military veteran, and the owner of Insulation Commandos of North Houston. Raised in Texas, Douglas attended Central High School, where he was an active participant in a wide range of sports, including football, baseball, soccer, and track. Following his graduation from high school, he answered the call to serve his country by joining the U.S. Army. During his military service, Douglas was stationed at Fort Benning, Georgia, and later deployed as an Infantryman and Tow Missile gunner in both Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm. After completing his military service, he returned home and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree from Angelo State University.
Upon completing his education, Douglas began his career in the oil and gas industry, working at various domestic locations in Texas and Louisiana. His career soon took on an international scope as he traveled extensively for work, with assignments in Qatar and Kuwait, followed by positions in West Africa, specifically in Nigeria and Chad. Eventually, Douglas moved back to the Middle East, spending the next 17 years living and working in Dubai and Qatar. During this period, he spent four years working on oil rigs around the world before advancing into senior management roles. After considerable reflection and in consultation with his family, Douglas chose to take early retirement and relocate to The Woodlands, Texas, where they have now settled.
The decision to open an Insulation Commandos franchise was a straightforward one for Douglas. The company is veteran-owned and is committed to operational efficiency and strong overall presentation. Douglas and his team are excited to serve the greater North Houston area and are proud to become the 26th location nationwide.
